Past Simple Tense (pretekli dovršni čas)
1. Verb TO BE (BITI)
Let’s compare PRESENT and PAST of the verb TO BE:
Present: I am at school now. / You are at school now. / She is at school now.
Past: I was at school yesterday. / You were at school yesterday. / She was at school yesterday.
2. THERE WAS … / THERE WERE …
Present: There is someone at the door. / There are 14 students in our class this year.
Past: There was someone at the door a minute ago. / There were 16 students in our class last year.
Now do the following two exercises:

We add -ed to the infinitive, e.g. clean – cleanED. Do an exercise here. Go on:
write positive sentences in past simple
Now put the verbs in the text into the right past form – positive.
